ABC (Alle Børn Cykler) is on the move again. This time they wanted a more teen-oriented look for the campaign. Not so many cartoony characters, more photos of real-life teens, and generally a “cooler” theme were some of the requests. I don’t do “cool” so well- so it has seemed a bit of a struggle as of late. We’ll get there though.

The class folder (shown) has been sent off to the printers, a large campaign poster too (this is where the trouble started, really), and monday we start on the badges. By the end of june we’ll have everything else out the door, ready for printing, so they can send off the materials to a gazillion students across Denmark.

After a half year(?) of quiet, here on the blog, I think it’s high time we shift back into gear, and let you in on a few things that we have been doing (while not blogging):

After that long post I wrote about Politiken’s Dictionary for youngsters, we pretty much put all our effort into our homegrown project. Then just before the summer, it became time to start up with making new material for DCF’s ABC campaign.

This year the focus is Safe School Streets. Aside from the usual print work, we were recruited, in cooperation with Subsilo, to put together a trio of films highlighting what UNsafe School Streets can be like, and encouracge kids to go out and film or photograph their own routes to school, load them up to the abc website, and compete for prizes. At the same time they bring attention to what needs to be improved for kids to be able to cycle safely to school.

Be interesting to see what they send in.

They are a bit Danish (text) but otherwise it’s Mr. Bean-ish gobbledeegook language. Great for an international audience;)

Politiken asked us to illustrate this year’s edition of their “Første Englesk Ordbog”, at the end of last year, and here it is!

What a long, hectic, exciting and fantastic road that was! Over 200 drawings, 3 main characters, 3 secondary-characters AND a game (more on that in a separate post) later, and we’re finally on a real store bookshelf!
